Dimitar completed his studies at the Faculty of Law of the Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski” in 2003. After that he has obtained a L.LM. in German and comparative law at the University of Osnabrueck in Germany and continued working as an academic assistant with the Study Group on an European Civil Code lead by Prof. Dr. Christian von Bar and financed by the European Commission.
After returning to Bulgaria in 2009 until 2017 Dimitar was leader of the German Desk of the international law firm Peterka & Partners responsible for the management of its Bulgarian office as well as for the delivery of the services granted to its German speaking clients worldwide.
Dimitar specializes in commercial and company law, M&As and project financing schemes. He gained comprehensive experience in the field of public procurement and concessions (representing a big number of foreign investors and participants within major public procurement projects).
Since 2009 Dimitar has been working as academic assistant at the Legal Faculty of the Sofia University, teaching law of obligations and training the Moot Court Team of the University in the famous Vis Moot competition which takes place every spring in Vienna.
His academic interests vary from national private law to the newest comparative legal researches in the field of the contract and property law. He is often requested by the European Parliament and the European Commission to assist in their comparative studies in Bulgaria.
Dimitar speaks fluent English, German and French and has initial knowledge of Greek.
